Telkom Establishes Neucentrix Data Center in Hong Kong
Jakarta. Telkom Indonesia, through its subsidiary Telekomunikasi Indonesia International, or Telin, inaugurated a neutral cloud and internet exchange data center, known as a Neucentrix, in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
The inauguration was marked by a ribbon cutting ceremony by director of wholesale and international service, Abdus Somad Arief, chief executive of Telin, Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi, and chief executive of Telin Hong Kong, Indarto Nata. Neucentrix partners, customers and prospective customers were also in attendance.
The establishment of Neucentrix Hong Kong marks Telkom Group's presence in 12 domestic and international cities, with operations in Jakarta, Medan (North Sumatra), Batam (Riau), Bandung (West Java), Yogyakarta, Surabaya (East Java), Denpasar (Bali), among others.
According to Abdus, Neucentrix is a data center managed domestically by Telkom Sigma and overseas by Telin Group.
"Neucentrix seamlessly connects data centers domestically and globally, facilitating access for content providers, service providers, and network providers," Arief said in a press release on Thursday (12/04).
Faizal Djoemadi further explained that Hong Kong's Neucentrix is built with world-class facilities that meet international standards to accommodate regional content providers with market opportunities to connect with 260 million Indonesians, as well as millions of others all over the world.
"The presence of Neucentrix as a data center network is expected to drive the digital economy not only in Indonesia but also make an international impact. Neucentrix provides a new role for Indonesia as an internet hub," Arief said.
