As an effort to preserve and arouse the pride in various arts and culture of the archipelago, PT Telkom Indonesia (Telkom) organizes "Telkom Peduli Budaya Nusantara" program to be held in eight major cities in Indonesia. The soft launching program is marked by the implementation of talk shows, art and cultural workshops at SMKN 10 Bandung (24/5). The soft launching followed by traditional dance performances in West Java Ballroom Hotel Grand Aquila Bandung.
By carrying the tagline #BanggaIndonesia, the soft launching of Telkom Peduli Budaya will bring a talk show with the theme "Uncovering the Meaning of Indonesian Dance Philosophy" and "Application of Model of Inheritance And Traditional Arts Training of Local Area" featuring speakers Maestro Indonesian Dance Artist Didik Nini Thowok, Indonesia Prof. Dr. I Wayan Dana, SST, M.Hum, Prof. Endang Caturwati and Traditional Indonesian Dance Artist Sandrina.
On a separate occasion, Human Capital Management Director of Telkom Herdy Harman explained that Telkom believes in the importance of understanding the noble values of the nation for the young generation. "Various local wisdom and cultural values of the nation should be introduced to the younger generation early on so that the entire Indonesian people can maintain unity amid diversity," said Herdy.
"Through various efforts to preserve local art and culture, it is hoped that the noble values of the nation can be inherited, so that our local wisdom and culture are not easily eroded by new traditions and foreign cultures because people are able to filter. We must also understand that the rapid development of information and communication technology (ICT) in this era of globalization has caused foreign cultures and traditions to easily enter and influence various aspects of people's lives, "Herdy said.
In addition, as one of the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) that participate in nation building, Telkom is called to continuously preserve the arts and culture of Indonesia. Telkom Peduli Budaya Nusantara will be held in July 2017, consisting of local dance performances and competitions, cultural seminars and workshops, cultural creations exhibitions, as well as providing assistance in the handling of cultural and cultural HAKI. Telkom Peduli Culture Program will be held in eight cities, namely Aceh, Padang, Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Balikpapan, Makassar and Bali and targeting no less than 5000 participants who are junior / high school students and practitioners of local arts and culture.
