PT Telkom Indonesia (Telkom) is committed to always improve the quality of service to the community by launching Telkom Modern City program in Sukabumi City, on Friday (4/8). The program sets to modernize the network from copper cable to 100% fiber optic which makes Sukabumi as the first city Modern City of Telkom in Indonesia. This activity was conducted at T-Cloud Sukabumi, along with the disabling of STO (Sentral Telepon Otomat) Sukabumi and other 59 STOs throughout Indonesia, marking the network system change to an optical fiber.
The launch of Sukabumi City As Telkom Modern City was first done by Telkom Network & IT Solutions Director Zulhelfi Abidin and Sukabumi Mayor Mohamad Muraz. Zulhelfi Abidin explained, the process of establishing this modern city takes about three years. "Telkom expressed gratitude for the cooperation and support of Sukabumi City Government so that the first Modern city in Indonesia is realized," said Zulhelfi. According to him, Telkom and the City Government of Sukabumi are determined to equally maintain the aesthetics of the city through the improvement of the network while providing better and more modern digital communication services.
Zulhelfi Abidin explained that Telkom Modern City aims to improve the quality of customer service and society in general. "The program aims to enable customers to enjoy better service because the quality of fiber-optic services provides a much more advanced performance to the integrated Information and Communication Technology (ICT) stages or Internet of Things (Home Security, Office Security and other applications Which support the implementation of smart city), "said Zulhelfi Abidin.
The presence of the ranks of Sukabumi City Government in the launching of Telkom Modern City is in line with Telkom's commitment to support smart city program. Currently, Sukabumi City is undergoing assistance from the Ministry of Communications and Informatics to implement smart city concept.
Sukabumi itself is currently ranked 8th out of 25 smart city pilot projects in terms of infrastructure readiness. The role of Telkom which is represented by Telkom Witel Sukabumi in applying smart city of Sukabumi City is implemented through internet network provision support for all Local Device Work Unit (SKPD) in Sukabumi City so that all SKPD now have their own application.
Telkom also supports no less than 15 health center in Sukabumi City with E-Puskesmas application along with its internet network. This support is intended to improve health services in Sukabumi City. Communities can also enjoy the CCTV Online monitoring service owned by the Transportation Department of Kota Sukabumi where Telkom has a role to provide its network and server.
The existence of modern city also allows digital life style can be directly enjoyed by the community even from their own home. Fever IOT (Internet of Things) encourages Telkom to provide quality services for the community so that from within the house productivity and creativity can still be maximized.
The SMEs Sector or other industries in Sukabumi can also enjoy this digital service to boost productivity. "Because the fiber-optic technology is able to provide greater bandwidth and minimize the risk of interference. This is evident from the decline in customer complaints in the city of Sukabumi up to 94% per day, "explained Zulhelfi. The maximum service from the government coupled with business sector productivity and ease of learning for the people of the Internet will be the key that determines the quality of the people of Sukabumi City to compete in the outside world later.
Furthermore, the existence of a more qualified infrastructure is expected to be utilized by many parties to promote the economy in the city of Sukabumi.
