PT Telkom Indonesia (Telkom) and PT Industri Telekomunikasi Indonesia (PT INTI) signed a "Memorandum of Understanding" to enhance the synergy of both SOEs, as well as to support the improvement of Internet of Things Devices service. The Corporate Memorandum of Understanding was jointly signed by Telkom Enterprise & Business Service Director Dian Rachmawan and Managing Director of PT INTI Darman Mappangara witnessed by Deputy Minister of Mining Business, Strategic Industries and Media Ministry of SOEs Fajar Harry Sampurno at the Indonesia Business Development Expo 2017 in Jakarta Convention Center, Wednesday (20/9).
The Memorandum of Understanding covers the synergy of supplying and using IoT devices, but not limited to Smart KTP Reader, Civil Navigation Equipment, Smart Meeting, Smart Meter, System Control Unit, IP PBX, and fiber optic and accessories as per market needs. In addition, both parties agreed on the marketing synergy of IoT devices in the form of freelancing, investment or managed services, as well as other forms agreed by both companies.
Telkom Enterprise & Business Service Director Dian Rachmawan said the synergy of both SOEs will be able to improve the efficiency and growth of the business of both companies through mutually beneficial cooperation. The State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) synergy between Telkom with INTI is a strategic step to optimize the utilization of the business potential of both companies, with the principle of mutual benefit in accordance with applicable legislation. "Currently Telkom through its subsidiary, PT PINS is focused on continuing to develop IoT in Indonesia, through this Memorandum of Understanding will certainly strengthen PT PINS to realize its commitment to The Leading IoT Company in Indonesia," said Dian.
Darman Mappangara, meanwhile, said, "This MoU is an initial step to increase the synergy between the two SOEs through the utilization of the competencies, potentials, and resources of each party in the framework of a synergy of IoT devices." He hopes the comprehensive synergy will continue not only on parent company but also in subsidiaries.
As per the Note of Understanding, Telkom will conduct product marketing and development result of IoT devices INTI, distribution, marketing, and sales of IoT devices development and production of PT INTI and develop solution or integration / result of development and production of IoT devices PT INTI. The IoT Device included in the Memorandum of Understanding is not limited to Smart KTP Reader, Civil Navigation Equipment, Smart Meeting, Smart Meter, System Control Unit, IP PBX, and fiber optic and accessories.
In the meantime, PT INTI will develop and produce IoT devices, but not limited to Smart KTP Reader, Civil Navigation Equipment, Smart Meeting, Smart Meter, System Control Unit, IP PBX and fiber optic and accessories as per market needs. PT INTI will also provide IoT devices for Telkom Group or outside TelkomGroup through PT PINS Indonesia, a subsidiary of Telkom. For the provision of Smart ID Card Reader by PT PINS Indonesia to Telkom Group is granted with exclusive rights.
