Telkom Has Restored 5,912 Customer Site

PT Telkom Indonesia (Telkom) continues to strive to accelerate the recovery of Satellite Satellite subscriber service 1 which experienced anomalies starting last Friday (25/8). By deploying more than 1000 TelkomGroup technicians across Indonesia, Telkom has successfully performed service recovery in accordance with the planned daily targets.

Since the commencement of service recovery efforts, the realization of repointing ground antenna segment up to this evening (31/8) has reached more than 100% of the daily cumulative target. It was recorded that the total number of totally restored sites are 5,912 sites. In other words, the recovery process has gone according to plan.

The total recovered site consists of 5,359 Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) sites which are mostly VSATs for Automated Teller Machine (ATM) service. One VSAT ATM site is usually able to facilitate more than one ATM machine. The recovery rate per day has reached 1,200 sites per day, while the total service recovery target is 15,000 sites.

Previously, on Wednesday (30/8), Telkom has successfully completed the migration of all transponders of Telkom 1 Satellite subscribers to Telkom 2 Satellite Transponder, Telkom 3S Satellite and other satellites.

The success of this achievement certainly can not be separated from the support of the Ministry of SOEs and Ministry of Communications and Information Technology as well as good cooperation with customers who play an active role in service recovery process. To that end, Telkom expresses appreciation to all customers and hopes this recovery process can be completed as planned until September 10, 2017.
