Telkom Satellite 1 Recovery Progress: Telkom Ensure 82% Customer Service Has Returned Normal

Jakarta. In line with the Telkom Satellite 1 service recovery deadline targeted for completion on September 10, 2017, PT Telkom Indonesia (Telkom) continues to monitor the repointing process of antenna ground segment at various points throughout Indonesia. As of Thursday night (7/9), Telkom has confirmed 82% of customer site has been successfully restored. That is, as many as 12,311 sites customers have returned to the normal form of the total 15,000 sites customers who were originally disturbed.

Overall, out of a total of 63 subscribers experiencing Telkom 1 Satellite anomaly impacts, Telkom has completed service recovery for 54 customers, including most customers of banking services. Especially for the Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) ATM service, Telkom has repaired approximately 80% site or as many as 9,209 sites out of total recovery target of 11,574 sites ATM services.

Beyond ATM services, Telkom is currently working to complete the majority of service sites that are mostly located in eastern Indonesia with geographic conditions that are difficult to reach, such as in border areas, inland and remote islands. Nevertheless, Telkom has established and launched a special team to these locations, so that the recovery process of all sites can continue to run according to predetermined targets.

With the progress of service recovery which has so far been stable and the totality of all officers in the field, Telkom is optimistic to be able to realize the commitment of completion of all sites of customer service within the next 2 (two) days.
