UPH Student Orientation Event to Feature National Police Chief as Guest Speaker
Jakarta. Pelita Harapan University, or UPH, will hold the annual UPH Festival 24 to welcome incoming students for the 2017-2018 academic school year on Aug. 16-19.
According a statement received by the Jakarta Globe on Wednesday (16/08), this year’s theme is "Bear Fruit" to represent the benefits of a robust collegiate education.
Students will be given a standardized test to challenge their basic competencies at the event, as well as be introduced to UPH's mission and campus life at a seminar featuring National Police chief Gen. Tito Karnavian as a guest speaker.
During the orientation, senior students, known as mentors, will assist the incoming cohort during their freshman year to overcome academic and social challenges presented by campus life.
A Parents Gathering event will also be held to introduce students' parents to the university's faculty.
UPH invited high school students and teachers, as well as the public, to attend the event, which will also feature music performances and a closing ceremony.
More information about the UPH Festival can be found on www.uph.edu/festival.
Pelita Harapan University and the Jakarta Globe are both affiliated with the Lippo Group.
