Singapore Netizens Take to Twitter After Haze Blankets City
Jakarta. Just days after Malaysia offered firefighting assistance to Indonesia ahead of this year's haze crisis, Singapore's National Environment Agency has warned residents air pollution caused by the burning of forests in Sumatra and Kalimantan has reached high-moderate.
The 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index reported levels of 58-80, or moderate, as of 11 a.m. Jakarta time on Friday (26/08) after steadily rising since 3 a.m. The level becomes "unhealthy" at 101.
Singaporean netizens took to Twitter to share views of the skyline and joke about the annual health and environmental crisis under the hashtag #SGHaze, which began trending throughout the region.
