Indonesia to Host Interpol General Assembly, Addressed by Top Cop, Susi
Jakarta. Indonesia will host the 85th Interpol General Assembly in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Nov.7, featuring keynote addresses from National Police chief Gen. Tito Karnavian and Maritime and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti.
The General Assembly will carry the theme Setting a Global Roadmap for International Policing and host more than 1,200 participants from 190 Interpol state members, 10 sub-bureaus, experts, exhibitors and media.
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is scheduled to open the event.
In a statement issued on Wednesday (26/10), National Central Bureaus-Indonesia Interpol Secretary Brig. Gen. Naufal Yahya said the meeting will address cyber crime, terrorism and emerging crime among Interpol members.
Indonesian top cop Tito will deliver a speech on terrorism, while Minister Susi will speak on efforts to eradicate illegal fishing, Naufal said.
The National Police will hold a Road to the 85th Interpol General Assembly event this coming Car Free Day in Jakarta, featuring drum corps, honorary guards and a march of flags. Children will be treated to a carnival and can meet former officers.
