Jakarta. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo praised the police’s elite anti-terror unit Densus 88 for rounding up terror suspects in possession of an active bomb they were going to use in an attack in South Tangerang, Banten, on Wednesday (21/12).

The bomb, found in a house near Setu Babakan in South Tangerang, has now been deactivated. Three terror suspects have been shot dead by the police.

"Let's praise Densus 88, the police chief and other police officers for foiling [another potential bomb] attack,” Jokowi told the press in West Kalimantan.

Jokowi pointed out that Densus 88 was able to react quickly to intelligence reports and prevent an attack from happening, instead of acting after a terror attack has already happened, as has been happening in other parts of the world.

Still, the president urged the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to the police.
