Agung Laksamana Reappointed Perhumas Chairman
Jakarta. Agung Laksamana was reappointed as chairman of the Public Relations Association of Indonesia, or Perhumas, for the next three years, the association said in a statement last week.
Agung's reappointment was affirmed during the association's annual national convention in Bogor, West Java, on Nov. 27-28. He also served as Perhumas chairman for the 2014-2017 period.
Agung said he is committed to seeing Perhumas contribute "good stories" about Indonesia and deliver the association's vision for 2020, which is "Perhumas and public relations practitioners must contribute to creating optimism and showing the world that Indonesia is a strong nation with integrity."
The association seeks to further its #IndonesiaBicaraBaik (Indonesia Speaks Good) campaign by promoting the spirit of nationalism and optimism while conveying positive stories about the nation, its culture, diversity and creativity.
Perhumas was founded in 1972 and it currently has 30 branches across Indonesia. Its more than 3,000 members include public relations practitioners, academics and university students.
