Badminton Asia Reaches New Deal With Sports Media Rights Agency MP & Silva
Jakarta. International sports media rights agency MP & Silva has renewed its partnership with Badminton Asia, which will see broadcasts of major matches in the region being distributed by the agency until 2020.
Badminton continues to be a top draw in Asia where its popularity ranks high in many countries in the region. MP & Silva will play a major role in the region by pushing the game through all media platforms and devices, including online and mobile, as well as betting and in-flight rights.
Since its partnership three years ago, the agency has expanded the visibility of Badminton Asia's events, reinforcing its broadcast footprint across major badminton countries such as China, Japan, India, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore, as well as showcasing events in new territories through its global network.
"The ultimate goal of the partnership is to elevate badminton in Asia, both on and off the court. We look forward to continue building the sport's profile with our global experience and local knowledge," MP & Silva chief executive Jochen Lösch said in a statement received by the Jakarta Globe on Tuesday (06/12).
"We are very excited to explore new levels of viewership, and we're confident this will help grow the sport in emerging markets in Asia and further develop our global TV audience," Badminton Asia president Anton Aditya Subowo spoke about the new deal.
Badminton Asia's events include the region's premium international tournament in the Badminton Asia Championships, as well as the Badminton Asia Team Championships, Mixed Team Championships, the Junior Under-19, Under-17 and Under-15 Championships.
