Jakarta. Indonesian Formula Two driver Sean Gelael delivered an impressive performance at the Monza circuit in Italy over the weekend by securing 14 points – his biggest so far this season.

In the feature race on Saturday (02/09), Sean took advantage of the rainy weather and wet track to finish sixth and eventually see his position raised to fifth after his closest rival, Briton Alexander Albon of ART Grand Prix, was penalized for colliding with Sean's Pertamina Arden teammate Norman Nato. Sean earned 10 points from the race.

In the sprint race on Sunday, Sean finished sixth, earning him another four points. Italian racer Luca Ghiotto of team Russian Time topped the race followed by MP Motorsport's Sergio Sette Camara in second and Prema Racing's Antonio Fuoco in third.

"The feature race was chaotic," Sean said, referring to the unfavorable weather, which caused several drivers to perform below par.

Current Formula 2 leader Charles Leclerc of Prema Racing earned no points for the first time this season by finishing 17th on Saturday and ninth on Sunday.

"I might be lucky, but I also took great efforts to finish," Sean said.

His partner Nato finished 14th on Saturday in the race that Fuoco won. Nato went on to finish 10th on Sunday, which did not earn him any points.

This year's Formula 2 season has now completed nine of the 11 rounds, with Sean currently in 15th place in the drivers' standings, trailing Nato, who is in eighth place.
