Papuan Boaz Salossa Hammers Malaysia in Friendly Game
Jakarta. The Indonesian football team beat out Malaysia 3-0 in a friendly match at Manahan Stadium in Solo on Tuesday evening (06/09), with Boaz Salossa dominating the show after adding two goals to the scoreboard.
All three goals were scored before half-time, with Boaz scoring two and Irfan Bachdim bagging one after an assist from the Papuan striker.
Boaz took advantage of a Malaysian defensive error during the sixth minute of the game, stealing the ball from a defender and sending it to the near post.
Malaysia appeared unorganized with the defensive side repeating mistakes, allowing Boaz to freely deliver an incisive pass to Irfan, who calmly went one-on-one with Malaysian keeper Khairil Fahmi at the 11th minute.
Ten minutes after Bachdim's goal, Boaz received a rebound after Zulham Zamrun's shot was blocked by Fahmi and the Persipura striker blasted the ball meters towards the goal line, brining the score to 3-0.
The match slowed down during the second half with both sides practicing a direct style which failed to add to the scoreboard.
The friendly match was also the first formal match for Indonesia after a year of suspension.
