World Cup to Be Broadcast Live on IndiHome
Jakarta. Telkom announced that IndiHome subscribers will be able to watch the 2018 World Cup live on their sports channels.
"IndiHome is committed to bringing the best for its subscribers by broadcasting the World Cup live 24 hours a day. We will also have the match in HD, and if you miss a match you can watch a replay through our TV on Demand service," said Siti Choriana, consumer service director of Telkom, in a press statement on Friday (18/05).
"We’re very happy to work together with Telkom as one of the licensed broadcaster for World Cup 2018. As Indonesia’s largest telecommunications company, we’re confident that Telkom is more than capable of providing the best entertainment throughout the country. FMA and Telkom share the same goal, to bring the World Cup to to the football fans of Indonesia, no exception," said David Khim, chief executive of Futbal Momentum Asia.
Channels broadcasting the World Cup will go on air starting June 1, showing pre-World Cup events and pre-World Cup friendly matches. The official start of the World Cup will be on the 14th of June with a match between Russia and Saudi Arabia.
Along with its World Cup channels, Telkom also announced that it is introducing a IndiHome Smart and IndiHome Video Call service. The former is a security solution for the home that can also be used to monitor electricity usage through a smartphone app. The latter is an add-on service from IndiHome-UseeTV that allows users to make video calls to other users on their screen.
