Jakarta. Media Digital Alacarte on Thursday (07/12) launched a new app called Club Alacarte that offers subscribers dining privileges across Jakarta’s best restaurants at Veranda Hotel in South Jakarta.
With more than 100 restaurant partners, the Alacarte app provides subscribers with access to more than 300 attractive dining offers.
An annual membership with the Club Alacarte gives you at least three "buy one get one free dining offers" from participating restaurants.
Club Alacarte also offers a 30-day "Lite" membership, which allows users to try all the features on the app for a month before signing up for the full-year membership.
A full-year membership costs Rp 599,000 ($42), but the app's producer claims you can save up to Rp 50 million ($3,500) a year in dining expenses.
"Alacarte is a great app that allows users to explore and try out new restaurants, and save up to 50 percent from the total bill," Alacarte co-founder and chief executive Ferdinand Sutanto said.
According to Ferdinand, Jakartans dine out more than 380 million times each year and spend a total of $ 1.5 billion annually eating out.
Alacarte’s buy one get one free deal is straightforward and easy to process.
Once you finish your meal, you only need to click on the restaurant in the app, choose the deals you want and then enter a four-digit PIN that you get when you register for a membership.
Ferdinand said the app works a treat for family and friends who often have lunch and dinner in a big group since up to three deals can be redeemed on the same table.
"Most Jakartans dine out in a group of four or more. With the Alacarte app, you can save a lot of money on dining out and enjoy lunch and dinner without worrying about breaking the bank."
Club Alacarte said it will sign up more restaurant partners and offer more dining deals next year.
"Our business model is unique in that it helps restaurants drive customer traffic and encourages cross-selling with the buy one get one free deals," Alacarte co-founder and chief operating officer Kenneth Low said.
Hanna Tjhin, owner of high-end Jakarta dining establishments Bottega Ristorante, Whilshire and Rock, Paper, Scissors said Alacarte helps restaurants attract new customers.
"Alacarte is a great concept and it’s simple direct marketing. We get a lot of new foodies in our restaurants recently because of Alacarte," she said.
Hanna said she is more than happy to give customers the buy one get one free deals if it means they will come back to her restaurants for more later on.
"The app encourages customers to come and then try more of our dishes [than if they have to pay full price]. That can only be a good thing for everyone," she added.
Chef and food stylist Yuda Bustara said he is more than happy to pay for Club Alacarte's full-year membership.
"I love visiting new restaurants and tasting new dishes. This app is not only great for saving money on dining out, it also helps me find new restaurants in Jakarta."
The Alacarte app is available on Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store.
