Jakarta. Indonesia added another gold to its 2018 Asian Games medal tally, courtesy of Aldila Sutjiadi and Christopher Rungkat, who won their tennis mixed-doubles event on Saturday (25/08).

The duo defeated Luksika Kumkhum and Sonchat Ratiwatana of Thailand by 6-4, 5-7 and 10-7 at Jakabaring Sport City in Palembang, South Sumatra.

The last time Indonesia won gold in the mixed-doubles event was at the 1990 Asian Games in Beijing.

The Indonesian contingent had only set its sights on a bronze medal in tennis at this year's Asian Games.

The country now has 10 gold medals, but its athletes still have a long way to go to achieve their target of securing at least 16 at this year's event.
