Jakarta. The Creative Economy Agency, or Bekraf, has opened a mini theater at the Sail Sabang 2017 venue in Sabang, Aceh, to screen Indonesian films from Wednesday (29/11) to Monday.
The building is a simple construction facing the Indian Ocean, which can accommodate an audience of 120.
"The mini theater was built as a creative space for screenings and performances. It is also another attraction for the Sail Sabang event," Bekraf deputy for infrastructure Hari Santosa Sungkari said on Thursday (30/11).
On Sunday, the theater will host a TED X event, while on Monday a Learn X session.
Tourism Minister Arief Yahya praised the initiative and said that the creative and tourism industries should work together more often.
"Film and tourism are related. They are inseparable parts of Indonesia's economy," he said.
