Hotel Occupancy in Lombok Reaches 90 Percent

Jakarta. Hotel occupancy in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, in August reached 90 percent, a statement released by the Ministry of Tourism said on Saturday (14/10).

"The occupancy percentage of hotels in Senggigi is above 80 percent. It reached 90 percent at Kila Hotel," Erik Tumbeleka, general manager of Kila Hotel and head of Indonesia Hotel General Manager Association (IHGMA) of Lombok said.

Based on the data from Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of people who stayed in August at hotels in West Nusa Tenggara reached 97,060 people, which is an increase of 36.11 percent from July that welcomed 71,311 visitors. The number is also an increase of 33.89 percent in the same period last year with 72,494 visitors.

Malaysian tourists dominated the number with 4,611 tourists, followed by China and South Korea.

Lalu Muhammad Faozal, head of West Nusa Tenggara Tourism Agency, said the provincial government will increase the frequency of charter flights in 2018 to increase tourist visits.
