Incentive Cash Program and Integrated Package Attract Buyers at International Tourism Bourse
Jakarta. The incentive cash program for charter flights and the integrated Wonderful Indonesia Package, or PWI, of Batam-Bintan in Riau Islands received a positive response from buyers during the 2017 Asian International Tourism Bourse in Singapore on Thursday (26/10).
"It's been three years since we joined ITB Asia. The first two years were very quiet, but this year we have served more than 40 buyers in two days," Nongsa Sensation Batam Island chairman Anddy Fong said.
The incentive cash amounts to $20 per pax, which will be provided to the airlines that open new routes to Indonesia. The program has been joined by budget airline Citilink Indonesia and Sriwijaya Air.
Anddy said hundreds of thousand tourists from South Korea are expected to come when a new direct flight to Batam will be launched in December.
The PWI package includes transportation, hotel, resort, gold, spa, restaurants and entertainment to appeal to a different types of tourists. There are 82 companies in the program, offering 250 packages.
The two programs are an effort to support Indonesian tourism to reach the target of 15 million foreign arrivals in 2017.
