Indonesia to Join International Cuisine and Culture Festival in France
Jakarta. Indonesia is scheduled to join the Fête International de la Gastronomie at Port de Gros Cailou in Paris, France, on Sept. 22-24.
The event is an annual feast that revolves around traditional cuisine and cultures from countries around the world. This year's event will be joined by more than 40 countries.
"We will present Indonesian dishes and culture to the people in France," Eka Moncarre of the Visit Indonesia Tourism Office said in a statement on Saturday (16/09).
Indonesian booth will offer traditional dance performances, Balinese massage demo, pencak silat by Indonesian Pencak Silat group in France and a photo competition.
Traditional dishes to be presented are rendang (slow-cooked beef in coconut milk), sate ayam (chicken satay), nasi goreng (fried rice), bakmi goreng (fried noodles), nasi kuning (yellow rice) and snacks.
The festival is expected to attract 50,000 visitors.
