Indonesian Tourism Attracts Foreign Investors
Jakarta. The Ministry of Tourism held a meeting with Jakarta-based independent services firm Wellington Capital Advisory on Tuesday (10/10) to discuss current investments in Indonesia.
The meeting was attended by Tourism Minister Arief Yahya, Wellington Capital Advisory president director David Burke and Hiramsyah, who is responsible for the development of Indonesia's 10 prioritized tourism destinations.
Burke said his company receives numerous letters of intent from companies – mainly based in London, Paris and New York – who are keen to invest in Indonesia's tourism sector.
Wellington Capital Advisory proposed a partnership with the ministry to promote investment opportunities in the government's 10 prioritized destinations.
"Tourism is one of the leading sectors in Indonesia. Wellington Capital Advisory will benefit from the partnership to develop the country's tourism," Arief said.
Indonesia currently needs $10 million for the development of its tourism sector.
