Jakarta. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is optimistic that Indonesia can attract up to 20 million foreign tourists by 2019.
Jokowi expressed his optimism at a meeting on the development of the "10 New Balis" priority destination list at the Bogor Palace in West Java.
According to the president, the target is possible to achieve by finishing the development of the 10 New Balis and differentiating main attractions at each destination.
"The tourism sector has a big impact that reaches small-medium sized enterprises as well as souvenirs and restaurant businesses," Jokowi said in a statement received on Monday (04/12).
Jokowi also added that an immediate response to global tourism development is needed, especially in changing shopping trends.
