Sail Sabang 2017 Featured in Southeast Asia’s Largest Yachting Magazine
Jakarta. Sail Sabang 2017 in Aceh launched on Friday (09/11) and saw more than 100 yachters participate in the event, which was featured in the SEA Yachting Magazine, the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia.
In the latest issue of SEA Yachting Magazine, Weh Island is featured, highlighting the beauty of the northwest island off Sumatra.
"Sail Sabang is Indonesia's national sailing festival held in the north of Sumatra. The Indonesian government and the Sabang local government will make a fun Sail Sabang week with a series of activities that can be seen, done and felt," said the magazine.
There are at least 28 activities in Sail Sabang 2017, such as the International Yacht Rally, Sabang Fun Bike, Sabang Underwater Photo Contest, Sabang City Tour, Banda Aceh City Tour, Free Diving Competition and more.
Participating in Sail Sabang is 100 percent free of charge. Participants will get access to all events in Sail Sabang, including scuba diving and Banda Aceh Tsunami Tour.
Tourism Minister Arief Yahya hopes Sail Sabang will improve the promotion of Indonesian tourism, especially in Sabang and Aceh.
Sabang has been chosen as one of the leading destinations for marine tourism because of its natural potential and strategic location as every year dozens of international cruise and yacht ships have arrived in the region.
