SIALInterfood 2017 Set to Promote Culinary Tourism in Indonesia
Jakarta. SIALInterfood 2017, an international food and beverage exhibition, officially opened at JIExpo in Kemayoran, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (22/11).
More than 800 exhibitors from 35 countries are participating in the event, which will end on Saturday.
Event organizing committee chairman Daud D. Salim said there will be cooking demonstrations and competitions to highlight Indonesian cuisine.
"The Professional Chefs Association, Indonesian Chefs Association and Aku Cinta Masakan Indonesia will participate in the event," Daud said.
It will also feature a gastronomy forum presented by the Indonesian Gastronomy Academy (AGI) on the role of authenticity and hygiene in developing culinary and shopping tourism in Indonesia.
"SIALInterfood is indeed for Indonesia, which is why it should be beneficial to the development of Indonesian cuisine," Daud said.
