South Sumatra to Build Tourist Information Centers
Jakarta. South Sumatra will build tourist information centers, or TIC, at several locations to facilitate visitors of the 2018 Asian Games.
TIC will provide maps, information about lodgings or hotels, transportation and tourist attractions, and free snacks and beverages.
"We will soon build TIC. Hopefully, the constructions will finish by the end of the year," Irene Camelyn Sinaga, head of South Sumatra Tourism Agency, said in a statement on Saturday (04/11).
The centers will be located in strategic locations across Palembang, such as Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport, Kuto Besak Castle and Jakabaring Sports City.
The constructions are under the supervision of the provincial administration, the Ministry of Tourism and a number of companies.
Forty-five countries will participate in the 2018 Asian Games, which will be co-hosted by Jakarta and Palembang, South Sumatra, in August.
