Sri Baduga Water Fountain Park Attracts Tourists to Purwakarta
Jakarta. West Java’s latest tourist destination, Sri Baduga Water Fountain Park in Purwakarta, showcases a stunning mix of musical and dancing water performances that have attracted visitors from across Southeast Asia.
President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo visited the park on Tuesday (25/04) during a work tour to the region, where he watched Sri Baduga's famous water fountain show.
Using the most current technology, park operators stage musical and dancing water shows on an artificial lake to mesmerize onlookers.
Since its opening, the park has been hailed as one of the most popular tourist destinations by locals and has been dubbed the largest water fountain show in Southeast Asia.
Sri Baduga's fountain display is free to the public every Saturday night, where as many as 5,000 onlookers can enjoy the unique performance. Audiences are seated in a circle around the edges of the fountain.
Located in the center of Purwakarta, the colorful water fountain park was officially launched by Tourism Minister Arief Yahya in February and is situated on three hectares of land.
According to Arief, the park is just the latest tourist addition to a province already attracting large swathes of visitors.
