Trail Bike Adventure Introduces Tourist Destinations in Sambas, West Kalimantan
Jakarta. Sambas in West Kalimantan hosted an off-road motorcycle race on Saturday (02/12) and Monday, to cater to adventure enthusiasts in the border area.
About 100 riders, 15 from Malaysia, participated in the bike rally to explore tourist spots in the region, such as Camar Wulan Beach, Maludin Beach, Temajuk Beach and traditional villages.
“The adventure event aims to introduce tourist destinations in the border area. This will become an annual event to attract foreign tourists from neighboring country Malaysia,” head of organizing team Erwanto said in a statement.
The event also featured fishing competition, photography contest, live music performances and traditional dances.
Subhan Nur, member of West Kalimantan Legislative Council, said the event is a perfect platform to promote the tourism potential to increase the number of foreign tourists to the region. He added the administration will provide infrastructure development to further support tourism sector.
