Yogyakarta's Gunungkidul Holds Authentic Culinary Festival
Jakarta. The Tourism Agency along with Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Agency of Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, held a culinary festival on Saturday (11/11) to promote local tourism and cuisine.
This festival was also a means of empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and communities in the area.
The festival featured cooking competition between the Gunugkidul Tourism Community Alert (PokDarWis). There was also fish-based cooking competition among the ladies of 18 sub-districts in Gunungkidul.
“There are 25 PokDarWis and 18 sub-districts participating this festival. Travelers can enjoy the culinary sensation of Gunungkidul, seafood-based dishes enjoyed by the beach.” said Head Promotion and Information of Gunungkidul Tourism Agency, Purnomo Sumardamto as quoted in a statement received on Tuesday (28/11).
This event was also attended by two automotive communities as it was in line with Jelajah Wisata, a touring event by Pajero Owners Community (POC) and Toyota Land Cruiser Indonesia (TLCI). It was estimated that there was 100 cars following this tour.
"The tour headed to Sundak Beach to enjoy lunch at this culinary festival while enjoying the natural beach," said Purnomo.
