Jakarta. A helicopter carrying Indonesia's Marine Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti was forced to make an emergency landing on a football field in Temanggung, Central Java, on Sunday (09/10) by a spell of bad weather, Antara news agency reported.

The emergency landing surprised hundreds of people watching an amateur football league match.

A witness, Eko, 35, told Antara the sky was almost pitch dark by Sunday afternoon when a helicopter circled around the football field and finally landed on the pitch at 4.30 p.m.

Everyone was shocked when Minister Susi came out of the helicopter and calmly walked to the dugouts.

Susi was later was escorted to Yogyakarta — where she was due to attend a high-level Symposium on Fisheries Crime — in a borrowed car by Temanggung police officers who were there at the match.

Temanggung police chief Pol. Supt. Wahyu Wim Harjanto said the minister's helicopter had landed during a light drizzle.
