Bogor Police to Shut Down Puncak Lane for New Year’s Eve
Jakarta. Bogor Police have announced the shutdown of roads leading to Puncak area from Dec. 31 until the early hours of Jan. 1.
The policy is planned to avoid overcapacity and prevent massive traffic jams experienced in the area in previous years.
“On New Year’s Eve of Dec. 31, 2016, the road heading to Puncak area will be closed at 6.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m. the day after, to avoid stagnation and overload of vehicles,”the Jakarta Police traffic unit said in its official Twitter account on Saturday (24/12).

Bogor Police traffic unit chief Comr. Adj. Silfa Sukma previously said trucks would be banned from the area from Dec. 23 until Jan. 1.
“According to a circular from the Transportation Ministry, [trucks] are banned from passing Jagorawi tollroad to Puncak. We have also socialized the advisory in toll gates and road intersections,” she said on Friday.
A joint personnel team of 300 has been deployed to the area.
