Commuter Train Derails, Causing Delays
Jakarta. A commuter train derailed near Jatinegara station in East Jakarta on Monday (30/10), causing widespread delays, officials said.
"Commuter Line Indonesia [KCI] apologizes for the operational disruption of the Pasar Senen-Jatinegara line due to the derailment of the Depok-Jatinegara train," KCI spokeswoman Eva Chairunisa told the Jakarta Globe.
She said the train was taken to the Depok depot in West Java at 1.50 p.m. after all passengers were evacuated. There were no reported injuries.
Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) spokesman Suprapto meanwhile said six intercity trains had to be rerouted while repairs to the damaged railway track continued.
