Jakarta. State airport operator Angkasa Pura II has addressed recent turmoil regarding an incident at Terminal 2 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, which turned out to be a minor malfunction of an elevator on Friday night (16/06).
Angkasa Pura II head of corporate and legal affairs Agus Haryadi said the elevator stopped due to a faulty gearbox.
"The elevator didn't fall or collapse, like it has been reported by online media," Agus said on Saturday.
Traveling from the first to the second floor, it only froze, causing no real danger.
"Our technicians have already checked the elevator and its electrical installation is not broken," he added.
Agus apologized for the inconvenience, adding the elevator will temporarily remain unoperational.
