Jakarta. Yogyakarta-based pop-punk outfit Endank Soekamti released a behind-the-scenes documentary of its 360-degree movie "Vlog Fest 2016 The Movie," which was released last year, on its YouTube channel on National Film Day, March 30.
The original movie was the first feature-length 360-degree film ever produced in the world. It told the adventures of eight vloggers who go on a hike to explore the beauty of Mount Bromo in East Java.
"One of the band's missions is to introduce Indonesia's natural beauty to the world," Iwan Pribadi, the media relations officer at Euphoria Records and the movie's producer, said on Friday (31/03).
Vlog Fest 2016 The Movie was produced as part of a fundraising project for DOES University, a free school founded by Erix Soekamti, the bass player in the band. The school gives scholarships to talented students from poor families.
The 50-minute movie and its behind-the-scenes video are available in full HD and can be purchased online at www.vlogfest.com.
Tourism Minister Arief Yahya lauded the band's effort to promote the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, one of the "10 New Balis" in Indonesia currently being promoted by the government.
"We have many world-class tourist destinations. Bali is one of [travel site] TripAdvisor's Best Destinations, a list picked by actual travelers. Vogue [magazine] also puts three beaches in Lombok and Belitung in its list of the seven best beaches [in the world]," Arief said.
