Jakarta. Six journalists from Japan were invited on a familiarization trip beginning on Monday (21/08) by the Ministry of Tourism to Nusa Penida, Bali.

The journalists work for Kyodo News, Chunichi Shinbun, Outdoor Japan, Sanyo Shinbun, Kobe Shinbun and Sankei Shinbun news outlets.

During the trip, the guests visited tourist spots in Nusa Penida, including Angels Billabong, Broken Beach and Kelingking Beach.

"The roads to those three spots are indeed difficult. But if it was easy, they would have been too crowded or too mainstream," said Rie Miyosi of Outdoor Japan, adding that hard-to-access locations are often intriguing for tourists.

Rie also said Bali deserves to rank first as the must-visit destination in Indonesia as Bali's nature presents "all kinds of beautiful scenery."

Another journalist, Junya Konegawa of Kobe Shinbun, said that besides the island's picturesque landscape, the combination of fresh morning air and Balinese hospitality make the proince irresistible.

I Gde Pitana, deputy for foreign tourism marketing development at the Tourism Ministry, said that inviting journalists on a trip is a method to increase awareness of tourist destinations in Indonesia through media publication.
