Jakarta. The Asean CISO Forum 2018 has highlighted the importance cybersecurity across various industries.

Present at the event held in Jakarta, on Monday (23/07), Communications Minister Rudiantara said that cybersecurity is one of the government's main concerns.

"One of the main challenges in cybersecurity and digital transformation is finding the right way to handle cyberattacks. I hope the ACIOA [Asean Chief Information Officer Association] can contribute in finding talent to tackle these challenges, especially within the Asean region," Rudiantara said.

ACIOA vice president Hammam Riza explained that going into the digital age, the digital structures in the energy and transportation industries need to be prepared.

"The ACIOA wants to build synergy and cooperation with all parties for a digitally safer Asean. The Asean CISO Forum is held to gather ideas from chief information security officers from various industries and the government in order to achieve this goal," he said.

"Indonesia is currently a target and source of cyberattacks, making cybersecurity an urgent matter. We hope that through this Asean Ciso Forum all of the parties involved can trade ideas and come up with concrete steps toward a better national cybersecurity framework," Telkom director of digital and strategic portfolio David Bangun said.
