Jakarta. State-owned telecommunications company Telkom, Kawasan Berikat Nusantara, State Printing Company and Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung organized a Healthy Fun Walk, participated by representatives of state enterprises and thousands of Jakarta residents.
"The Healthy Fun Walk is for the people to get together and exercise. We're also celebrating Independence Day and the launch of the Asian Games," State Enterprises Deputy Minister Aloysius Kiik Ro said on Sunday (19/08).
Telkom's president director Alex Sinaga said the Healthy Fun Walk was also one of the company's initiatives to inspire people to adopt healthy lifestyles.
"Telkom, KBN, PNRI, JIEP and all state-owned enterprises are trying to promote healthy living among all Indonesians," he said.
SMEs and traders set up food and merchandise stalls around the Ministry of State Enterprises office. There was also a free health examination stand, music shows and competitions for participants.
On Aug. 10, Telkom together with KBN, PNRI, and JIEP launched the "Siswa Mengenal Nusantara" ("Students Explore the Nation") program. They have also been active in funding educational infrastructure across the country.
