153 Days of Happiness
Under its new donation program, a Jakarta restaurant makes gluttons feel good about eating
DILL Gourmet Cafe in Plaza Indonesia has given us all a good cause to be a glutton. Until November the cafe is inviting Jakartans to take part in the 153 Days of Happiness Campaign.
“The numbers 153 from our campaign have special meanings,” said Angie Buntaran, head of business for DILL Gourmet Cafe and Culture Royale. “The number 1 is the central idea of giving back, hence our hashtag of ’1 meal for 1 hope.’ Whereas, 5 represents the number of special main courses and beverages that we will create every month according to a theme, as well as the 5 different foundations we are collaborating with for this campaign. Lastly, 3 is the number of our chosen areas of focus for our foundations, which includes education, health and environment.”
This month, the theme is All About Beef, with five main courses specially created by chef Indra Sudarmojo for customers with varying palates to enjoy, which includes: Australian Short Ribs Linguine with Truffle Oil marinated and braised to perfection, Australian “Konro” Grilled Beef Ribs, a delicacy from Makassar served with aromatic soup and spicy chilli paste, Korean Style Beef Tacos with homemade kimchi, guacamole and US flank steak filling, Bulgogi Steak with Crispy Rice Cakes layers and last but not least, the all-time favorite dish, DILL Premium Burger served with special fries and fresh salad on the side.
The 153 Days of Happiness campaign started last month, with a theme called “Tribute to Rice” in accordance to the fasting-month and Indonesia’s staple food. About 850 “hopes” (#1meal1hope coupons) and a number of cash donations were collected and donated to; Rumah Harapan (Home for Hope) — a free shelter for underprivileged patients and their families from outside Jakarta, which also provides food, transport to and from hospitals, medicines, psychologists and more.
Meanwhile, customers can also enjoy the 153 Days of Happiness Happy Hour package, which includes two cocktails and one snack for only Rp.153,000++, starting from 4.30pm to 7pm everyday — the perfect way to kill-time and indulge while waiting for the 3 in 1 car shift and traffic to pass.
“Before relocating, we wanted to do something memorable to end our chapter in this outlet on a good note,” said Angie, who has worked at DILL Gourmet Cafe since its establishment in 2012. “It is also a wonderful way to promote ‘helping others’ within our team and a chance to regroup as well as refocus the group dynamic in a positive way.” DILL Gourmet Cafe will be relocating and expanding to a Bistro Bar after the end of the campaign.
Stay tuned for more updates on the special themed menus and chosen foundations of the month for the 153 Days of Happiness #1meal1hope campaign.
