Jakarta. Following the recent trend of pop-up projects opening up across Jakarta cafes, local independent book communities POST Santa and Seumpama Books will organize a "Pojok Buku" ("Book Corner") event at 1/15 Coffee in Gandaria, South Jakarta, from Saturday (13/02) through Feb. 28.
"One of our greatest pleasures in life is to read a good book while sipping a steaming cup of coffee," wrote POST Santa in an Instagram post on Wednesday (10/02), "and our upcoming collaboration is precisely about sharing that joy."
During the event, these communities will set up a public shelf filled with various titles at one corner of the cozy and spacious cafe — patrons can pick and read any book that piques their interest while enjoying their cup of coffee.
A number of programs will also be held throughout the event, starting with "Blind Date With a Book" on this Valentine's weekend, where anyone can choose a book to "date" solely based on its first line.
On Feb. 20- 27, independent book studio Seumpama Books will organize a children storytelling program, while POST will invite book lovers to discuss about their favorite titles in a gathering on Feb. 21 and 28.
"Pojok Buku" will also conclude with a book bazaar held on Feb. 27 -28.
"Pojok Buku" runs from Saturday through Feb. 28 at 1/15 Coffee, Jalan Gandaria I No. 63, South Jakarta.
