Former President BJ Habibie Subject of New Biography
Jakarta. Former Indonesian president Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie is the subject of a new biography "Rudy, Kisah Masa Muda Sang Visioner" ("Rudy, Tale of the Visionary"), launched at his residence in South Jakarta on Monday.
Gina S. Noer, scriptwriter for the film adaptation of his book "Habibie & Ainun," wrote the biography that tells the story of Habibie in his teenage years. Gina told Detik that the writing experience is different as this book is her first biography work.
"I am so used to writing scripts, which are meant to be seen in films. It feels different, and it was very difficult," she said.
Habibie said he was quite different from other children. He only slept four hours a day and was highly-curious and would cry if the answers he got did not satisfy him.
"My father would read me the Quran to calm me down, and I would stay quiet. My sibling told me I started reading the Quran whenI was three," Habibie said, as quoted by Antara.
Habibie has been the subject of numerous biography books, such as "Biografi Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie," "Pesawat Habibie: Sayap-Sayap Mimpi Indonesia," ("Habibie's Airplane: Feathers of the Indonesian Dream"), and "The True Life of Habibie."
"Rudy" will be out in Indonesian bookstores next week.
