Jakarta. The Indonesian capital will play host to the YouTube FanFest on Oct. 23 at the Sheraton Bandara Hotel outside Jakarta and Skenoo Hall at the city's Gandaria City mall.

The one-day showcase of YouTube personalities is set to feature local YouTube stars such as Gamaliel Audrey Cantika (GAC), Edho Zell, Jakarta Beatbox and Skinny Indonesia 24. They will be sharing the stage with international faces like Kurt Hugo Schneider, Bethany Mota, Macy Kate and Mike Tompkins.

Putri Silalahi, the communications head of consumer relations YouTube at Google Indonesia, said the event was inspired by popular hashtag #BringYouTubersToJakarta on Twitter, which recently trended.

"YouTube aims to be a platform where people can create and collaborate," she said. "By bringing YouTube FanFest to Jakarta, we hope to see more local content creators on YouTube."

YouTube FanFest is free of charge for 3,000 registered viewers. Registration will open on Sept. 21 through  www.youtubefanfest.com/id.
