Bank Syariah Mandiri Appoints Toni Subari as President Director

Jakarta. Bank Syariah Mandiri, a subsidiary of state lender Bank Mandiri, appointed Toni Eko Boy Subari as its new president director on Monday (10/04).
Toni replaced Agus Sudiarto who ended his tenure.
Prior to the post, he served as senior executive vice president for special asset management at Bank Mandiri. At Bank Syariah Mandiri, he will be responsible for helping local businesses to grow.
The lender also appointed Achmad Syafei, Ade Cahyo Nugroho as its directors, Mulya E. Siregar as chief commissioner and Dikdik Yustandi as commissioner.
The bank's corporate secretary, Dharmawan P. Hadad, said Toni was selected during the general meeting of shareholders, which also decided to allocate Rp 11.1 billion ($836,000) to charity.
In accordance with Indonesia's banking law, sharia-based lenders' must designate 2.5 percent of their profits for zakat — alms-giving treated in Islam as a religious obligation.
Bank Syariah Mandiri booked Rp 325.4 billion in profits last year, a 12.4 percent increase from 2015.
