Car Sales in Indonesia Fall 9% in January

Jakarta. Car sales in Indonesia fell 9 percent in January from the same month last year, data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association showed on Tuesday.
The cars leaving from manufacturers to dealers' shops reached 94,194 units last month, compared to 103,609 cars in January 2014.
The low multipurpose vehicle segment still dominated sales with a 27 percent market share. That was followed by a 14 percent share for the low-cost green car segment – which includes Toyota Agya, Daihatsu Ayla, Honda Brio Satya, Wagon R Suzuki Karimun, andDatsun Go Panca.
The association, known as Gaikindo, predicts sales in 2015 will match last year's 1.2 million units.
