CommBank Indonesia Snatches Permata's Lauren Sulistiawati for Top Post
Jakarta. Commonwealth Bank Indonesia, a subsidiary of Commonwealth Bank of Australia Group, appointed senior banker Lauren Sulistiawati as president director to replace Tony Costa who has retired, the lender's top executive announced on Tuesday (01/03).
"With Lauren at the helm we will continue to improve our service and products to meet our customer needs with a real focus on using technology to make it easy for our customers to do business with us," CommBank Indonesia president commissioner Geoff Coates said.
Lauren, a veteran banker with over 25 years of experience in finance and banking, will lead CommBank Indonesia to develop new market opportunities and to increase the bank's presence in the archipelago.
"I’m very excited to be part of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) franchise, as one of the largest banks in the world and with complete financial service business capabilities in Indonesia covering banking, asset management and insurance," Lauren said in the statement.
Lauren said the bank has a focus on financial inclusion and literacy, which is in line with the government's economic agenda.
Lauren has previously succeeded in managing complex banking operations for several international and national lenders, including Citibank, Permata Bank, LippoBank, Standard Chartered Bank and ANZ-Panin Bank.
