Jakarta. Taiwanese bank CTBC Indonesia will offer three new mutual funds from investment manager Eastspring Investments Indonesia, the company announced on Tuesday.

The new additions are Eastspring Syariah Greater China Equity USD, Eastspring Syariah Equity Islamic Asia Pacific USD, and the fixed income Eastspring Investments Yield Discovery. They will join the other three existing products, namely the Eastspring Investments Alpha Navigator, Eastspring Investments Value Discovery, and Eastspring Investments IDR High Grade.

CTBC Indonesia's president director Iwan Satawidinata hopes the new mutual funds will help boost the bank's fee-based income in 2021.

"The partnership is also a commitment to support Indonesia's government to improve the public's financial inclusion and literacy via mutual funds investment," Ivan wrote in a statement.

According to Eastspring Investments Indonesia president director Alan J. Tangkas Darmawan, this partnership will improve people's access to quality mutual funds via banks. "Eastspring Syariah Greater China Equity USD offers the chance to invest in one of the countries with the world's fastest economic growth and reap better returns,"  Alan said.

On the other hand, Eastspring Syariah Equity Islamic Asia Pacific USD has the potential for higher return, in line with the potential gross domestic product growth in the Asia-Pacific region outside Japan.

"Whilst the Eastspring Investments Yield Discovery can be an alternative for investors who would like to manage cash in the future," Alan added.

Eastspring Indonesia is one of Indonesia's largest investment management companies, with funds under management of more than Rp 87.6 trillion ($6.07 billion) on Dec 30, 2020 — including discretionary and mutual funds.

Apart from CTBC Indonesia, Eastspring Indonesia offers its funds through distribution partners such as Bareksa, Bank Central Asia (BCA), Bibit, Bank Commonwealth Indonesia, Mandiri Sekuritas, Maybank Indonesia, and Mirae Asset Sekuritas, among others.
