East Nusa Tenggara to Host 2017 Komodo Travel Mart
Jakarta. East Nusa Tenggara, or NTT, will host the 2017 Komodo Travel Mart at the Kristal Swiss Belinn Hotel in Kupang from Oct. 18 to 21 to showcase tourism destinations located in the province.
Initiated by the Association of Indonesian Tour and Travel Agencies (ASITA) in NTT, the local tourism agency and airport operator Angkasa Pura (AP) I, the expo will feature a tourism travel mart exchange and a tour where participants will travel to Atambua, Soe, Kupang, Labuan Bajo, Ende and Lembata.
AP I is also scheduled to hold a focus group discussion about tourism improvement in NTT and human resources training to support the sustainable development of the tourism sector in the province.
More than 200 buyers who have registered for the event come from 16 countries in South America and the Caribbean as well as from 20 provinces in Indonesia.
"There will be 50 sellers from NTT who will promote and sell products from NTT tourist destinations," Abed Frans, head of ASITA in NTT, said in a statement on Sunday (09/10).
Last year, the province recorded a total 882,395 tourist visits, consisting of 112,433 foreign tourists, 40 percent higher than the total number in 2015.
