First Media Launches #MyFirstKindness Social Media Campaign
Jakarta. Integrated telecommunications and multimedia services provider First Media recently launched #MyFirstKindness campaign, inviting social media users to spread kindness by posting inspiring stories.
In a statement released on Friday (16/06), First Media said the campaign is part of the #MyFirstStory series initiated by the company to commemorate Ramadan.
Until June 30, people can upload their stories in the form of images or videos by mentioning First Media's social media accounts and using the #MyFirstKindess hashtag. Submitted material will be compiled and shown on First Media's channels.
"[The] #MyFirstKindness [campaign] is inviting people to do good and be an inspiration that can be shared with others," said Meena Kumari Adnani, director of content and business development at Link Net, a cable TV and broadband operator under the First Media Group.
She said the initiative shows how small steps to spread positive influences can have a great impact on society.
"Kindness is a simple thing, but it needs to be passed on to benefit many people. The more it is spread, the better and greater the benefits that can be given. This is what we are currently trying to cultivate and do, both within the company and in the larger community," Meena said.
The campaign is also supported by HBO Asia channel, New Hope for Papua Education Foundation (YPHP) and Project Karma, an organization that works to end sexual exploitation of children.
"HBO Asia is happy to support social initiatives such as the #MyFirstKindness campaign by First Media as it engages the local communities in our markets. [...] we hope that this will be a reminder that simple acts of kindness will help build a more cohesive and harmonious community," said Zakiah Malek, HBO Asia vice president of affiliate sales.
