First Media Partners With Catchplay
Jakarta. First Media announced a partnership with Catchplay, a movie streaming service, allowing First Media subscribers to watch the latest movies on demand.
The number of video streaming users in Indonesia is expected to grow to 12.1 million in 2019, compared to just 6.9 million in 2016.
The new partnership will allow subscribers to stream and watch movies on their television sets or on their mobile devices.
"We want to bring people and families back together. With our service, we hope that families can watch movies together again," said Liryawati, First Media’s chief marketing officer, in a press release on Wednesday (11/04)
"We’re very excited for our partnership with Catchplay. This will add another great feature to our broadband and cable services. With the movie streaming service, our subscribers can enjoy movies at the comfort of their homes," said Meena Adnani, First Media’s executive vice president of content development and business affairs.
"For the last two years, Catchplay has delivered great content for movie lovers in Indonesia. And now, First Media subscribers can watch movies of their choice on their televisions. We at Catchplay are very excited for this partnership because we can now provide our services to the many families subscribed to First Media," said Daphne Yang, chief executive for Catchplay Group.
Catchplay was founded in 2007 and its businesses include film distribution, content aggregation, linear movie channel operation, co-production and financing including involvements in international film productions.
In March 2016, Catchplay debuted its Catchplay on Demand service in Taiwan followed by a launch in Indonesia and Singapore in the same year.
The service is available through the desktop browser, the Android PlayStore, and the AppStore, through partnerships with leading operators including IndiHome, Telkomsel, First Media in Indonesia and StarHub in Singapore.
