Following Footsteps of Wuling, DFSK Brings Glory 580 to Indonesia

AUGUST 14, 2018

Jakarta. The Indonesian automotive industry is constantly changing. After Priceza, a shopping search engine and price comparison tool reviewed the China-based Wuling Motors, a new Chinese competitor, Dong Feng Sokon, or DFSK enters the market.

DFSK is a joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Chongqing Sokon Industry Group and specializes in  SUVs, MPVs and other light commercial vehicles.

DSFK is introducing its line of SUVs, the Glory 580 in two variants: luxury and comfort.

As an SUV, the Glory 580 is a larger vehicle — 4.68 meters in length, 1.71 meters in height and 1.84 meters in width. It can have seven passengers on board.

Modern in design, the model has a large chromium-plated grille, daytime running lights and LED fog lights. Seventeen-inch dual-tone rims give it a robust look.

Its interior has a premium feel with faux leather and comfortable ergonomic front seats.

The SUV is complete with a 10-inch LCD display with Bluetooth technology to connect it to a smartphone, and displays the rear of the car for parking. In the MID, display icons glow attractively with complete information, including air pressure in tires.

The model also features an audio steering switch, dual zone automatic AC, power window, keyless access and a paddle shift. For safety, it has a brake override system, emergency stop signal, anti-lock braking system, hill start assist, ISOFIX and six airbags.

The Glory 580 has two engine types to choose from. The first option is a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 149 horsepower. In this engine variant, the customer can choose between a five-speed manual transmission and an automatic CVT (continuous variable transmission).

The other engine, code-named SFG18, is a 1.8 liter non-turbo generating 141 horsepower, and comes only with manual transmission.

With its features and exceptional power, the DFSK Glory 580 is ready to compete with other SUVs on the Indonesian market.

Unveiled at at this year's Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS 2018), the DFSK Glory 580 is now available for order. Its manual-only comfort version costs Rp 245 million ($16,800), while the luxury variant starts from Rp 308 million.

DFSK's distributor Sokonindo Automobile has opened the model's assembly line in Cikande, Serang, Banten.
