Cirebon. The government will impose an 11 percent rise on toll road tariff between Cikampek and Palimanan on the northern coasts of West Java, also known as the Cipali toll road, the operator company revealed on Thursday.

The hike will result in new fares of between Rp 132,000 and Rp 273,000 depending on the size of the vehicle, except for passenger buses which are entitled to the floor tariff.

A decree signed on October 15 by then-Public Works and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono stipulated the percentage of the hike, said Rinaldi, director of Astra Tol Cipali.

"Adjustments in toll road tariffs are based on a 2022 law which mandates evaluations and adjustments of tariffs every two years in accordance with the inflation rate and the service standards [of the operator],” Rinaldi said in a statement.

"The adjustment is necessary to ensure that service quality and toll road maintenance remain at the top level for the safety and comfort of motorists. The implementation of the new tariffs will be published in the upcoming formal announcement,” he added.
